I come from Godstone, Surrey, England (left) but have moved all over the country before settling in Crawley, West Sussex some 19 years ago.I have always been encouraged to bake since I was quite small and can remember vividly being taught to make a Victoria sponge by my mum.
Home economics was not only favourite but best subject at school and it was thanks to my middle school teacher Mrs Mcgonigal that I know how to make the basics of just about everything I make on a regular basis today.
Coming from a large family, large meals and plenty of home made treats were always in demand and over the years I have enjoyed making people happy with a nice cake or cookie.
It was after a conversation with friends about what I was baking that day that the blog started.
I decided that although I was an enthusiastic baker my results were some what varied and relaying these stories to friends they suggested I should document some of my 'bakes' to show the 'how not to' as well as the 'how to' and show people that just because you get it wrong sometimes it doesn't mean you shouldn't give it another go.
Along with my 3 children, my boyfriend and close friends are my main taste testers, all brutally honest.
It doesn't matter where I am or who I'm with, as long as it has an oven I will bake.
